Case Study: Full solar installation for a home in Watford

These are photos of an Enphase system installation we did for a house in Watford, Hertfordshire. The customer wanted solar panels installing on the front, back and sides of the roof of the house with the storage batteries mounted externally.

The Enphase brand Micro Inverters were mounted on rails and two 5kWh batteries installed on an external wall. We also installed a bird guard to protect the panel array: unlike other contractors that install these in 1m sections we do them in one complete piece – this takes more time but eliminates any weakness in the guard and is a far better, long-term solution.

The close-up image shows how we installed the cables through the roof using flashing kits as well as rubber tile inserts we used beneath each of the rail mounting hooks to eliminate possible cracking of the clay tile beneath.
