String inverters are found on smaller solar systems and central inverters are found on larger ones, usually solar farms. Central inverter repairs are more specialist and EV Solar are one of only a small handful of contractors that can provide the service.

Central inverter repair

The photos below are of a large 48 kilowatt central inverter located on a solar farm in Northamptonshire. EV Solar were called out to this because the inverter was in fault and had stopped producing power. As an inverter increases generation, it starts with just a few power stacks and adds more as power increases. This fault was diagnosed as a problem with one of the stacks. A replacement was sent by the manufacturer Fronius, which we reprogrammed and replaced.

This resolved the issue and the system was back up and running again. We always aim to repair rather than replace inverters where possible, which saves our customers a lot of money. EV Solar have extensive experience with central inverter repairs; we are the people to call for homes and businesses in south-east England!
